A dual AOP brand

A long fruit farming tradition

It was at the end of the 1960s that upon the initiative of a handful of fruit farmers and fruit traders, the grouping of producers named PERLIM – a contraction of PERigord (as the region where walnuts are produced) and LIMousin (as the region where apples are produced) - was founded.

This grouping, located in Corrèze (France), has the objective of producing, storing, and selling apples and walnuts coming from two specific areas of land, each of which having received the official AOP classification for their respective produce (2002 for walnuts, 2004 for apples):

  •  Périgord for walnuts and shelled walnuts representing 30% of the production in the basin primarily located in Dordogne, Lot and Corrèze and over 60% of walnuts sold with the AOP classification. www.noixduperigord.com
  • Limousin for apples with 70% of the total tonnage produced in the AOP area (Corrèze, Haute-Vienne, Nord-Dordogne) and 90% in Corrèze alone. www.pomme-limousin.org

Technical expertise benefitting overall taste

Continuous investment both with producers and in storage and packaging facilities
A Quality assurance procedure led jointly or in parallel for both products and coordinated by a Technical department in the orchards and factories

The culture of good taste

Unlike many other groupings, located in various different regions, PERLIM only sells produce coming from its members and does not undertake any purchases outside of its own production area; this fundamental principle is a guarantee of flawless traceability, in addition to the quality and origin of end products.

In this regard, PERLIM, a dual AOP brand, has an ethos of promoting the culture and defence of good taste, a philosophy which combines the expectations of the vast majority of consumers.
